Implant retained overdentures are dentures that are held in place by a clip or bar that is attached to the dental implants. We are fully conversant with the Straumann and Branemark system, and experts in the design and manufacture of partial and full dentures for implant work.

Dental Implants are basically small titanium rods that are inserted into the jawbone. The titanium rod oessiointergrates (fuses) with the natural jawbone and replicates the root area of the natural tooth. Dental Implants will provide a more stable and secure denture, allowing freedom to wear dentures confidently and face those social and physical limitations that some denture wearers experience.

Our expert team designs and manufactures acrylic dentures for two types of implant retained overdentures:

All-on-4
With All-on-4 dental implant system, it prevents the need for dental implants for each missing tooth. Instead All-on-4 uses four precisely placed implants on the top or/and the bottom arch, positioned a certain angle to provide great support for a fixed denture. Placing a titanium implant in the jaw provides a strong foundation for replacement teeth and helps stabilise bone levels-keeping the jaw healthy. But for patients who lack bone mass, placing only four implants, tilting the two posterior ones at a 45 degree angle, so even those patients with virtually no bone can have a secure (non-removable) full upper and/or lower set of teeth.

Retained by Bar
A thin titanium bar follows the curve of your jawbone which will link the implants together, attachments on the bar, denture or both fasten the denture securely in place. The internal surface of the denture is designed in such a way that it snuggly fits into the bar when it is inserted, making this treatment the most secure removable option.
Unlike all-on-4, retained by bar overdentures are removable by the patient. Allowing for the appliance to be removed at night and for easy cleaning purposes.
