What is a Biofunctional Prosthetic System? (BPS)
Have you ever heard of a Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS)? No? Then you’re definitely in the right place.
The BPS is created to replicate human dentures and are made-up of top notch materials to work hand-in-hand with the human mouth, just as ordinary dentures do. They are completely removable (so you can clean and care for them properly), and are manufactured using Ivoclar Vivadent materials which lets them live up to the beauty standards of the patients receiving them.
The Ivoclar Vivadent teeth are created using 3 layers of acrylic resins that gives the patients real, natural looking teeth whilst giving the dentures great resistance after wearing.
Using a supervised pressure/heat process, this means the right amount of materials needed to ensure a perfect fit, flow into the flask where the denture is being made.

At the start of November 2022, we sent our (already) talented Technicians on a Biofunctional Prosthetic System course with Ivoclar Vivadent. At Pinnacle Prosthetics, we always aim to keep our Technicians up-to-date with the latest technology and knowledge, to help them gain experience and develop their skill-sets in the industry.
Richard Egan, one of the nation’s greatest Dental Technicians with over 40 years experience, spent the day upskilling our staff on all things BPS both technically and clinically. This has allowed us to implement this technique on all cases in the lab going forward. This also lets us offer our patients a more enhanced denture experience.

Not only being comfortable to wear, you can eat virtually any food as your dentures are created with an extremely solid material that reduces the chance of the dentures breaking. The material is really bio-compatible too, so you can say bye-bye to distorted taste, stains or irritating bacteria.
